Kicking a can along the empty road, a medium sized female folded her hands into the pockets of her jacket and then pulled that tighter around her small frame. A small breeze blew her long hair around her face, obscuring her vision as she walked. Blocking the sun from her eyes were a pair of rather large sunglasses, sitting on the bridge of her nose as though they always belonged there. A hint of silver creeping over her nose, the sun reflecting off of her nose piercings. It was day time in the town of Fairview, it was sunny, yet it was also cold at the same time; hence the breeze. Probably wouldn't have been quite so breezey if she hadn't been walking along the boardwalk to the sea at this particular time of the day, head buzzing with the music from her iPod as she walked.
In a rather nice mood this morning; the blone-with-brown-highlights, kicked the can again, once she had caught up with it, and looked down the beach; to the sand. There wasn't an awful lot of people around and a walk did seem like a good idea at the moment. Adjusting the sunglasses on her head and pushing her hair behind her ear, the nineteen year started down the sand, stopping to remove her shoes so that she could feel the sand beneath her bare feet. It was definitely a nice day, such as it was so that it brought a smile to her usually expressionless features. The sun, sea, and sand was a welcome change from her usual haunts; at least she had the day off from work, though.
Pushing her sunglasses up to the top of her head, the blonde, eventually, came to halt in the middle of the beach and surveyed her surroundings. There wasn't very many people around and she liked that. It would give her more chance to stay as calm as possible; given her personality. Twitching her nose to one side, Emily picked her way a little further along the sand and then sat herself down, in it, with her legs stretched out in front of her. There was a few pebbles within her reach, which she picked up and started throwing into the sea.

Damn, could it get any colder here?
Gavin tugged his jacket a bit tighter around his body, zipping it up halfway instead of just letting it hang open, like he'd had it before. He reached one hand up and adjusted the DC cap on his head, so it was slightly to the left instead of staight forward. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his iPhone and changed the song playing, returning it to its place with a shiver.
The breeze was chilly, and even though the sun was shining brightly, it couldn't have been much warmer than sixty degrees; way to cold for Gavin's tastes. As he gazed upon the sands of the beach, watched the water lap up to the shore and then retreat again, he found himself missing San Diego, missing the salty breeze and the beaches.
He shook the thoughts off, remembering what was back in San Diego for him; not something he wanted to revisit. He kept his walk going forward, along the boardwalk, as he looked at all the little shops set up there. Nothing worthy of spending his money on, Gavin turned to the beach, a shortcut to his apartment.
Halfway home, Gavin looked ahead of him and saw a girl sitting in the sand, tossing pebbles into the ocean. She's hot, he noticed with a small smile, his snakebites moving in his lip. He had both of them in today, rings instead of studs, and he was wearing eyeliner and black eyeshadow; his blue/gray eyes really popped like this.
Feeling on top of his game, Gavin walked forward until he was about four yards from the girl. "Hey there," he said to her, his lips stretching into an easy smile that could give a girl a heart attack.

Emily wondered if it would be considered strange if she randomly started singing to herself, not that she cared or anything, really? It was just that, well, she was in a new place. A new town. A new start, and whilst she didn't normally care what people thought about her; the idea of randomly starting to sing at the top of her voice didn't seem appropriate at the moment, so she remained silent. Smiling to herself, faintly as she tossed the pebbles into the sea.
She messed around with her lip ring with her free hand, turning it in her lip and flicking it occasionally. She remembered when she'd first gotten it done, at the age of seventeen - the person doing it had believed she was eighteen and she hadn't even needed her identification! Aha, that had been a strange day.
Unaware of the male behind her, Emily continued to throw the stones into the sea. It wasn't much fun being alone and she did wish that she had some form of company. Even if it were a crab! However, she did jump slightly when she heard a voice behind her. Hey there, The blonde turned around to look at the feature, smirking and raising an eyebrow when she saw his easy smile. Damn, he's cute. She thought.
"Ah! My hero!" She announced, tilting her head to one side, allowing her long, blonde hair to cascade across her shoulder and chest. "I was just thinking, 'company would be nice', and company found me. I've no idea who you are, but you are now, officially, my knight in shimmering clothes, savvy?"

When she turned her head to look at him, Gavin noticed that she had a lip ring, too, only hers was on just one side. Her eyes were green and catching, with gray hidden away in them. She had a pretty face, that went without saying, and her hair was long and looked as soft as silk; Gav felt the smile growing.
"Ah! My hero!" he heard her say, and he cocked one eyebrow at that. Hm. Never been called a hero before. Fucker, yes, and bastard and asshole. Hero? Not quite. She went on: "I was just thinking, 'company would be nice', and company found me. I've no idea who you are, but you are now, officially, my knight in shimmering clothes, savvy?" Gavin laughed at that, rolling his eyes, as he shoved his hands into his hoodie's pockets. "I didn't know that my clothes shimmered, but alright then," he told her, looking out over the water for a brief moment.
"I'm Gavin Marks, by the way," he said as he looked back down at her, meeting her gaze. "So now you know who I am; can I know your name?"
This was how he operated. Slide right up next to a girl, flirt a bit, see what her personality was like-- determine if she'd blow him off or let him make his moves. This was routine for him already, and he was slipping into it easily. Get the girl's name, ask about where she lives, all that bullshit. Step one.

His hair was shimmering, his eyes were twinkling and he looked pretty damn hot, if Emily didn't say so herself. He made her smile with his look and his own smile. Those and the fact that he just so happened seemed to pop up, out of nowhere, when she wanted to talk to someone most. It was awesome, she made a mental note to see if it would happen again, some time in the near future.
He cocked his eyebrow at her after calling him a hero; she smirked. Seemed to her that no-one had ever called him 'hero' before; well, they do say that there's always a first for everything, right? Then he laughed at her later comment and the blonde's face was crinkled with her own, silent laughter. I didn't know that my clothes shimmered, but alright then. "Well, then, maybe that's a figment of my imagination." She chuckled, picking up another pebble and chucking it into the sea, watching it skim.
I'm Gavin Marks, by the way. A shiver ran down Emily's spine when he met her gaze; she wriggled a bit to shake it off. So now you know who I am; can I know your name? Opening her mouth, Emily hesitated a bit. After a long moment of silence she let out a giggle and nodded, again. "Sorry, I was considering committing an act of mutiny there, but then I realised that would have been pointless; I'm Emily, Emily Beckett."

With experienced eyes, Gavin watched as she assessed him, and when she did not gain a look of distain, Gav knew that she found him attractive. Who wouldn't, really? He was gorgeous, there was no denying that fact; it had been proven a million times over with every girl he'd been with.
He tugged the single headphone out from his ear, and shut off the music on his iPhone-- oh, how he loved his phone. He'd gotten it for his nineteenth birthday, and the device had seen some fun times. Many a girl had gotten their picture taken with it, only to have it deleted the following day. Good times.
"Well, then, maybe that's a figment of my imagination." A short laugh came from the nineteen year old's lips, and he followed her gaze, as she skipped a pebble across the water. "You've got a damn good imagination then," he told her, looking back down at the girl's face.
"I'm Emily, Emily Beckett." Pondering for a minute, Gavin finally decided on which pickup line he wanted to use. He didn't use all the cheesy ones that had girls rolling their eyes, his weren't really outright pickup lines at all. But they lured girls in a little more-- usually-- and they seemed to work well. "A pretty name to go with a pretty face," he said, smirking. "Can I sit by you, or will you just tell me to 'fuck off' and send me packing?"

Her green eyes, scanned the entirety of his body. Yes, even his... package. Dazzling white teeth pulled the corner of lip into the side of mouth, gently tugging at it with a smirk. Her eyes twinkled in the sunlight as she continued to look at him in full length; something she usually did before she got with a male... or female. Emily found nothing wrong with him and decided to allow him keep her company for as long as he wanted.
You've got a damn good imagination then. Emily raised her eyebrow, she let go of her lip and nodded. "You've no idea, pal. No idea at all." She mumbled, mostly to herself, not really caring if he had heard her not. It didn't matter.
A pretty name to go with a pretty face. The blonde snorted with laughter, coughing it up by pretending to have a small, coughing fit. Clearing her throat she let him go on. Can I sit by you, or will you just tell me to 'fuck off' and send me packing? Emily laughed again; this time she wasn't able to cover it up with a coughing fit.
"Aha; SCREW YOU, sorry, ahem. That was just about the lamest chat-up line I've ever heard." she admitted with a small laugh, looking up at the male with sparkling eyes. "And just for that, I think I can allow an upstanding gentleman, such as yourself, to sit by me, if you so wish it be." Reaching out a slender hand, Emily patted the patch of sand next to her and looked up at him, expectantly.

Watching as her eyes wandered down, Gavin rolled his eyes and laughed. He'd often been told that his face, while not unpleasant, was not his best feature, and he found himself thinking that as her eyes fell. Good thing I'm wearing nice jeans... he though, supressing laughter as she rose her gaze back to his eyes.
He heard her mumbled something, and managed to catch what it was. "You've no idea, pal. No idea at all." Still smiling, Gavin's tongue moved to one of his lip rings, playing with it a little, as he often did when he got into dirty thoughts. I wonder just what that means.... She's got a good imagination..... It became harder to supress the laughter, but he held it back, by some miracle.
"Aha; SCREW YOU, sorry, ahem. That was just about the lamest chat-up line I've ever heard." She giggled in the cutest damn way that Gavin had ever heard, and he was momentarily frozen by the sweet sound. Shaking his head minutely to clear it, Gav wondered what had come over him in that brief instant, but decided not to think about that right now; he'd recall it later and wonder what the hell was wrong with him. "Ah, well, you can't blame me for trying, can you?" he responded, shrugging his shoulders, as she continued to speak.
"And just for that, I think I can allow an upstanding gentleman, such as yourself, to sit by me, if you so wish it be." At that, Gavin just had to laugh, and he was holding his stomach with laughter, as he took a seat at her side. He heaved a sigh, still chuckling quietly. "If you think that I'm an upstanding gentleman, then you must have the wrong guy; my intentions are, and always will be, completely dishonerable." He rolled his eyes, tucking his hoodie around himself to keep the cold breeze from chilling him.

Emily got lost... in her own thoughts as her eyes wandered around the male standing before her. It wouldn't be the first time that she'd seen a male and said to herself; 'holy shit, he's hot...wonder if he's any good in bed.' And currently; she was trying her hardest to not think about that. They'd only just met each other and sex should not be on her mind; but it was. She couldn't help it.
Ah, well, you can't blame me for trying, can you? It was cute, the way Gavin shrugged his shoulders and allowed her to carry on talking about his chat up line. "Ah, suppose not really." she admitted, pushing a strand of dirty blonde hair behind her ears and going back to fiddling around with her lip ring. Damn.. he was too darn cute for her to hold her attention elsewhere; drawn to his face and his jeans.
On average; a male thinks about sex every fifteen seconds. There was never a statistic for a female thinking about sex, so Emily has once assumed she had part of a male's mind and therefore, was not an average male, because sex was on her mind for less than fifteen seconds each time. She was way below average, somewhere down with all the harlequin's, harlots, prostitutes, hookers, and whores in hell. How, interesting that was.
If you think that I'm an upstanding gentleman, then you must have the wrong guy; my intentions are, and always will be, completely dishonerable. Emily laughed and shook her head. "Well, so far I'm led to believe that you'd not dishonerable. I mean, you have graced me with your shimmering presence, your name and even had the decency to ask if you may sit with me. I'm sure not many other males would do that, Gavin." Emily flashed him a grin and a wink.

As Gavin took a seat beside Emily, he noticed that she was playing with her lip ring again, and looking off in the other direction; that was a good sign for him. He knew enough about the female mind to know that a girl's first response, most of the time, is to look away and smile or fiddle when they see a cute guy. Since she was doing all of that, Gavin could only assume that she was thinking about how drop-dead sexy he was.
I wonder how I came to be so stuck on myself, he wondered randomly, trying to recall a day when he had not been this way. Since he was about 10 years old, he'd thought of himself as hot stuff, and since he was 13, he'd known that he was a sex magnet, if not a sex addict. Hm.
"Well, so far I'm led to believe that you'd not dishonerable." Gavin could not help but laugh outright at that, but he waved his hand for her to continue, his black nailpolish reflecting the light dimly. He silenced himself as she continued speaking. I mean, you have graced me with your shimmering presence, your name and even had the decency to ask if you may sit with me. I'm sure not many other males would do that, Gavin."
Almost laughing again, Gavin found himself far from agreeing with her. "I think that any straight guy who looked at you would be as nice as he could possibly be, if it meant he could get beside you," he told Emily knowingly, nodding his head as he stared out toward the water. His elbows were on his knees, his hands falling together between his legs in front of him, as he thought for a moment, before adding, "Besides, now that I'm next to you, maybe I'll stop being all nice and turn into a total dick. You just don't know." He tilted his head to the side, looking at her with a wicked smirk, though in reality he wouldn't do that; he knew better. Becoming a dick was best saved for after the dirty deed was done, he'd come to learn through experience.

Turning her head slightly to one side, Emily watched, out of the corner of her eye, as Gavin took a seat besides her and watched her for a moment. She could feel yet another smirk creeping across her pale features, but forced it away as she sat, watching him carefully; wondering if he would do something. He was most definitely cute, yes, he had a nice, toned, body and a rather unique personality to boot. It was a refreshing change of sorts to her.
He laughed at her disagreement to him not dishonerable and waved his hand in the air. Emily caught site of his black nail polish and her eyes move from him, down to her own hands; she had on no nail polish; but she did have a silver ring on one of her fingers. She finished her mini-speech and he seemed to be almost laughing at her. I think that any straight guy who looked at you would be as nice as he could possibly be, if it meant he could get beside you. Well, that was most certainly true; she wasn't going to dismiss that.
Besides, now that I'm next to you, maybe I'll stop being all nice and turn into a total dick. You just don't know.
"Mm," she started, turning her attention back to him and stretching her long legs out in front of her - her toned skin shiney in the sunlight "but then again, you could just be saying that. Which is like me saying to you that I want to get in your pants."
Ohh.

This girl was definately different, that was for sure. From her Vans shoes to her neon yellowish-greenish sunglasses, her outfit was strange, but it fit her well, and her lovely legs were wonderfully exposed, much to Gavin's delight. She was toned, but wasn't overly muscled; a perfect balance. Her shorts were just that-- short, and Gavin found himself wondering just how they might look laying on his bedroom floor.
Her hands were slender and small, and she wore a pretty silver ring on one of her fingers. I wonder if that's supposed to mean something, he thought, wondering if she had a boyfriend that he wasn't aware of. That would definately put a damper on the plans that were brewing in his mind; he mentally crossed his fingers.
"But then again, you could just be saying that. Which is like me saying to you that I want to get in your pants." Smirking at this comment, Gavin looked at her with one eyebrow raised. "Do you, now? Well, then," he said smoothly, placing on hand on his chest and leaning back on his other one, groaning a bit, "be my guest. If you insist. Who am I to stop a knockout like you?" His laughter was light and genuine, and he began to suspect that there was no boyfriend in the picture.
Excellent.

Emily was enjoying being in Gavin's company. Or was that; she was enjoying him being in her company? Either way it was still pleasurable and there was no way that she was going to tell him to fuck off any time soon, she was having too much fun already, and they hadn't even started on anything other than just names and friendly banter. Emily loved it, she couldn't stop smiling.
She mentioned about getting in his pants, in a wholly different context to what Gavin was thinking, but then as she thought about it more; maybe she did say it in that context. It wouldn't surprise her, to be honest. He smirked and she found herself smirking at the same time. What? He was a cutie afterall and besides; it wouldn't be the first time she'd slept with someone upon the first meeting.
Do you, now? Well, then, His eyebrows were raised and he was changing his position, Emily briefly wondered if she'd said the wrong thing, but kept quiet and listened to what he had to say. be my guest. If you insist. Who am I to stop a knockout like you? Emily laughed, she pushed her head back and shook her head, smirking at his comment. It was so typical, but she liked it.
"Well, if you're sure you don't mind.." she started with a smirk, adjusting her position so that she was sitting sideways, facing him, with her legs curled around her ass and her hand in the sand. "but I must warn you," Emily furrowed her brow at him. "I'm not very... good." And with that, the blonde sat back on her knees and looked down at him with a smile.

The smirk on her face, the one that mirrored his, was quite adorable, and Gavin found himself stunned once more; this girl had a weird effect on him. He blinked once or twice, clearing his head, and fell back into the playful banter that they had going back and forth.
However, when she changed positions so that she was almost leaning over him-- not quite, but almost-- Gav's eyebrows went up in skeptical surprise. This girl did not look like the type that would fall for his pickup lines. But then again, people were hard to read-- maybe she was that type. For some reason that Gavin could not put his finger on, he felt a strange sense of.... could it be called disappointment? that she was going along so easily. What is the matter with me? he wondered in confusion, but he kept his smile unclouded, his face still in that skeptical surprise.
"Well, if you're sure you don't mind.." Rolling his eyes and scoffing, the smile staying on his face as he did so, Gavin said, "Of course I wouldn't mind. I'm a man." Any guy in their right mind wouldn't say no to a girl like Emily.
She went on, and he listened. "I'm not very... good." He cocked one eyebrow at that, toying with his lip ring-- definately thinking dirty thoughts. "So what does that make you? A... bad girl, I suppose?" He laughed aloud, rolling his eyes at how corny that sounded. "I swear, not all my lines sound that cheesy. I promise."

Oh, this was absurd. Why the hell was she falling for such cheap chat up lines? It was ridiculous... then again, she couldn't really comment about that - lest not to make her sound like a, a.. what was the word? Unable to remember. Anyway; she'd used just about all of the most cheesiest chat up lines known to man, just to get a female in her bad, males too. But there was something else going on here, something a litt- strange, and she couldn't place her finger on it.
Gavin rolled his eyes and scoffed; this only caused Emily to raise her eyebrow slightly higher as she spoke, still. Of course I wouldn' tmind. I'm a man. "Oh, are you really? I never would have guessed that if you hadn't told me." Emily shot him a cutesy smile, the one where a person's eyes would twinkle and you couldn't tell if they were being sarcastic... or not.
He started to play with his lip ring and she watched him, fascinated. So what does that make you? A... bad girl, I suppose? Then he laughed and Emily stopped herself from smacking him round the head with the side of her arm. "To an extent, yes." she laughed. I swear, not all my lines sounds that cheesey. I promise. The blonde raised her eyebrow and sat back a little more. "I wouldn't be surprised if they all turned out as cheesey as they are now, really."
