BAND HISTORY: Tak was there from the beginning of The Cutthroat Kids. He met Amber late in seventh grade after his parents moved him from Korea to America. She sat with him at lunch one day and they have been close ever since. Tak was dragged into the world of rock by Amber. His parents always seemed to disapprove of his friendship with a non-Asian girl. They thought she would be a bad influence and make him dishonor his ancestors. Tak never listened to them and continued his friendship with Amber. One night while sitting around after going to a show, Tak jokingly said that he and Amber should start a band because they could do it better than the band they had gone to see that evening. Amber seemed to run with the idea, taking Tak along for the ride he'd never regret. Tak seems to be the voice of reason for the band. He could be considered the leader, but he prefers to be the one that makes sure all his bandmates, especially Amber, stay as far out of trouble as he can keep them.

APPEARANCE: Tak is a tall Asian man at roughly 6'4". He weighs about 160-165 depending, making him a thinner individual. He keeps himself in shape so there is muscle tone, but he'll never be a muscle man. His eyes are hazel, sometimes having more blue in them and sometimes more green, depending on his mood. His hair is black and usually stays that way unless a random strip of color appears, but that doesn't happen often. He slouches slightly, making him look shorter than he really is.
STYLE: Tak's fashion sense varies depending on who he's with. When he's with his parents, he tends to wear button down shirts, ties, and dress pants, even when he's at home. When he is with Amber and his band, he generally wears more comfortable clothes like hoodies, t-shirts, and jeans. He is extremely fond of hats, gloves, and wallet chains. He tends to dress more conservatively for school, but not like he dresses around his parents.

PERSONALITY: Tak is a relatively friendly guy. He enjoys the company of good friends. He's seen as a rather quiet guy until he's around his bandmates. It seems to be where he comes alive. He is a very easygoing sort of guy. He likes going with the flow, but he's not above being the responsible one. He was taught a very strong right and wrong ethic. Rarely he has an idea so wonderful that he can ignore the ethic and run with it. This usually gets whoever he involves in a lot of trouble so he tends to ignore such ideas.
Tak is very touchy when it comes to his status as an Asian and as an immigrant. His temper flares when people assume things about him simply because he's Asian. He'll get offended even if the assumption is true. He doesn't stand for anyone but Amber teasing him. This attitude comes from a long line of bullies who thought that just because he talked a little different, he should be an easy target.
Tak is a strange man to love. He'll fall quickly in love, but he has never fell in love completely to anyone knowledge. He's not a fan of people touching him without reason, even if it's a girlfriend. He's a true romantic at heart, wooing a girl completely off her feet. He's a traditionalist so he prefers to pay for everything. He gets his feelings hurt if the girl insists on paying.

MOTHER: Hana Eun Ki ;; Hana is 45 years old. She works at a family laundromat in the Asian section of Chicago. Tak loves his mother very much, but he dislikes how she treats the people he hangs out with, especially the band. Hana doesn't believe her son should be a musician or teach music. She'd prefer him to be something that she feels is good enough for him, which isn't much. She's overbearing on her son's girlfriends attempting to force them to follow Korean custom. She is overprotective of her son because he is her only son and only child.

Seung Baen Ki ;; Seung is 50 years old. He works in the family restaurant. Tak has a strained relationship with his father. His father believes that Tak hasn't done anything worthwhile in his life. Seung refuses to speak to his son half the time, the other half is often spent berating Tak for his lifestyle choice. He believes that the American lifestyle has made his son lazy.

Tak was born in Korea in 1986. His parents were thrilled that their first child was a son. He grew up with everything a smart child could need. He went to the best schools and had the best tutors. Tak was well liked in his school. He was one of the top students in his classes and his teachers knew he was going to be something big one day. The economy took a downturn and Tak and his family was forced to immigrate to America.
When Tak came to America, he was placed in the seventh grade. He kept to himself because the other kids in the school made fun of him for being Asian. They would call him "chink" and "chinaman". They would beat him up when the teachers weren't looking. He often spent the lunch period alone or getting bullied. One day a little girl sat with him. She introduced herself as Bambi or later he'd know her real name, Amber. She sat at lunch with him for the rest of the year. They became extremely close in a short amount of time.
Tak's high school career was less than stellar. He was trying to balance between spending time with Amber and not letting his parents know he was hanging out with Amber. His parents never approved of her or her influence on their son. Tak kept them at bay, making sure he did extra well in school to keep them off his scent. At night he would sneak out with Amber and go to rock concerts. He was constantly in trouble with his parents. Finally when Tak came home with his first tattoo and his first bass guitar, they kicked him out of the house.
Tak followed Amber into Music Education. He set his sights on the smaller ones, however. He wanted to inspire kids to invest part of themselves in music and make it a passion of theirs as much as it was his passion. He's become over protective of his best friend and bandmates. He found a job in a local coffee shop and became a barista. He works there as well as goes to school.
