PERSONALITY:
Jazz was quiet when he was younger, but has since come out of his shell and cast aside his fears of being ridiculed knowing that, only by being outspoken has he ever gotten anywhere in his life. He is also easily embarrassed by even the smallest mistakes on his part and will go to any lengths to recover from them by trying to laugh at himself (which he doesn't do well at all) or by trying to distract others from it by changing the subject.
Jazz has the constant need to be validated by female figures around him, due to the lack of a strong female figure like his mother in his life. He will try to appear cooler and funnier than he actually is and will often try to subtly show off to impress any girls he can. He isn't very good with women and can often come across as either disinterested or too forward and very rarely manages to hit the right middle ground to get any girls to see him as real boyfriend material. He is also very particular about what girls he likes and won't settle for any less than his high standards.
Jazz is also easily angered by any harsh comments or physical contact with intent to harm, even if it's very minimal. He will often lunge into a fight, even if he has no chance of winning, which is almost always. He is also very opinionated and can try and shove his own opinions down other people's throats, believing that he is right, despite his low self esteem. Although Jazz is very outspoken with people he doesn't know well or doesn't like, he will very rarely fight against his friends to get his opinion for fear of losing the ensuing debate and being branded an idiot by the people he spends his time with.

MOTHER: Rose Lahiff was 27 years old when she gave birth to her son, Jack. To him she gave her brown eyes and hair. She was a tall woman, fit and beautiful. When Jack was 2 years old, she lost her job in a local library and had to search for a new one. One her way back from a late interview, she was attacked by a nervous mugger who was too high to know what he was doing. He then stabbed her and left her to die. She died three days later in hospital. Jazz was too young to know her properly.
FATHER: Pascal Costelloe is 45 years old, a year older than his wife would have been, with light brown hair and bright blue eyes and a beard to go with it all. He is Jazz's only direct relative and the only family he has in Fairview and the rest of America. They have a close relationship that resembles that of best friends, considering all they have is each other. Pascal supports Jazz and his music.

HISTORY: Jazz was born in 1992, the year Nirvana released the album Nevermind which is one of his biggest musical inspirations. He was born to Pascal Costelloe and Rose Costelloe (maiden name Lahiff). When Jazz was two years old, his mother was killed, proving to be quite traumatic when he became old enough to understand the concepts of life and death. Jazz was born in Dublin city, Ireland and started school at St. Clare's Primary school in 1997 at the age of five, where he met and befriended Eoin Kearns, who he knew for years after. When Jazz was eight years old, the school found him and another boy to have exceptionally high IQs and moved them both up a year. But Jazz was shy and was left at the bottom of the social food chain with only one friend.
This shyness continued on to his first year at his Secondary school (The Irish equivalent of Junior High and High School combined) Where he took solace in Rock music and the Blues. His few friends that he had mistook the Blues for Jazz music and he was nicknamed Jazz and it stuck. In his second year in Secondary School, he saw how many friends a boy who played guitar had, and he decided that the best way to become cool was through music. His father bought him a guitar and he began to teach himself. But he was soon aware of the fact that playing the instrument got him no where and he gave up. At the age of 15, he listened to Johnny Cash's Hurt cover and was inspired to take up the instrument again. He had forgotten everything he'd learned before and had to start from scratch.
A few months later, when he could sing and play the instrument at the same time, he joined a four piece band with his friends, Jake, Eoin and Cian. They played a few gigs and got good, but in 2009, Jake's father's job as a teacher forced him to move after he was offered a place in JFK High in Fairview, it paid better than his position in Templeogue High School back in Dublin and Jazz agreed it was the best course to take. Jazz bid fair well to his friends and in late July, he and his father moved to America. Now, two weeks after the move, Jazz has decided to finally get out and about in Fairview and start busking for money to buy a new guitar to go with his Epiphine AJ-200 acoustic and his Epiphone LP Junior.
