Tracey was still 'asleep', by the time they arrived at the hospital. She woke up just when the docors were done with checking to see how she was doing. She saw them leaving the room, with her eyes squinted, then opened them up wide, but shut them quickly as her eyes weren't too used to the bright lights just yet. When they did, she opened them again, then looked around the blank white room. She noticed Dare, then noticed that she wasn't wearing her own clothes. They were all alone. It was quiet and all she could see except for the room's surroundings, were the doctors and nurses walking around outside.
"How ya feeling?" he had asked, breaking the silence, which Tracey was happy he did. She had always hated being in silence. "I feel fine. Breathing's a lot easier now, thanks." She paused. Then she started to wonder that when she had changed, if he had looked or not. But she didn't really want to mention it.
Thoughts started to fly through her head. Did he come in the ambulance with her because she asked him to? Or was he going to climb in after anyways? Thta's when she remembered when Dare had held her hand, just before she fell asleep. She started to wonder if he liked her. And if he did, if she had liked him back. Tracey just wasn't sure. Because of her past, she always thought that guys were always going to be same and act like arrogant jerks. But Dare seemed different to her. Sure, he used a lot of sarcasim, but she found his sarcasim somewhat funny. Tracey didn't know if she should ask him about it or not, but took a chance anyway.
"So, about what happened in the ambulance, you came in when I asked you to, thanks." Suddenly, she thought that maybe he never knew she had asked for him and that the paramedic didn't mention her asking. Tracey continued to talk anyway, as she loved to talk a lot and because she hates being in silence.
There's one thing that I remember clealy though. Once you sat down beside me, you held my hand."

` * She's unstoppable, unpredictable ;; I'M SO JADED, CALCULATED, WRONG ¨ * ~ ♚ ~ * ¨ --> I feel fine. Breathing's a lot easier now, thanks." Dare didn't exactly know what to say. Maybe because he didn't get thanked all that much. He didn't really do great things for people all that much and that had to be the reason why. However he had basically saved Tracey's life, so being thanked was nice and new. So instead of babbling some type of 'your welcome' he merely nodded.
--> After he nodded Tracey seemed to zone out again. Finally she spoke, So, what happened in the ambulance, you came when I asked you to, thanks." This Dare could respond without feeling awkward. Or at least not as awkward. "Well I didn't know if I'd be allowed in the ambulence until someone said you asked me to and it seemed I could. So... He shrugged. "I came. I would've come anyway." He said this matter of factly. As if annoucing the sky was blue or the grass was green.
--> "There's one thing that I remember clearly though. Once you sat down beside me, you held my hand." Dare mentally frowned. The question he hoped she would avoid. He rather go back to the first question that made him feel awkward then this question. The best type of answer in this was maybe something un-serious. Something that would save him from 'love' or anything that could lead to drama. "Oh yeah that. Well it looked like you needed it. People always feel better when they hold my hand." His explanation wasn't sweet or nice. It was rough. One could tell he had the barrier back up. Of course Dare really liked Tracey. But even without meaning to fuck things up he accedently did anyway. It was better off saying something rough so nothing like that could happen.
--> A paper menu, which Dare had been using the back to draw on with a pencil that had been in his pocket, lay in front of him on the desk where he was sitting near. Some sort of drawing was on it, clearly finished, but he flipped it over to fast for anyone to see. "Hmm hopsital food. I can cook better then this." He chuckled and grinned. "Would you like, chicken friend steak with gravy and mashed potatos. Or chicken nuggets? Well they come with french frys. And pizza that comes with apple sauce." He rambled off some more foods that was on the dinner menu. "I'm sure after they're positive that you're okay. Then you'll be free to leave." He said fidgeting with the menu. For a split two seconds one could see on the back was a perfect replica of Tracey. One couldn't see much more though, because he had flipped it over again to show only the menu. Obviously he had noticed this two second short flip. But it didn't look like he was going to talk about it either. Simply it appeared as if it never happened. Dare didn't say anything in reply to her thanking him for asking how she felt. He simply nodded. Tracey didn't seem to mind that much. She would've probably expected him not to answer back. He did reply to her thanking him about coming in with her though. "Well I didn't know if I'd be allowed in the ambulence until someone said you asked me to and it seemed I could. So..." He paused for a short while, then shrugged. "I came. I would've come anyway." She thought he sounded like the news reporter she would watch everyday on TV. But Tracey wanted to hear his answer to why he held her hand in the ambulance. He replied saying, "Oh yeah that. Well it looked like you needed it. People always feel better when they hold my hand." Tracey just smiled at him and said, "Yeah. Sure." Maybe she was smiling to hide the fact that she actually did like him. She wasn't sure. She would always have second thoughts about guys, whether she should take the risk, or turn around and walk away, which reminded her of that night where she did walk away, but returned to him. Tracey didn't seem to know anything right about then.
Dare turned his attention to a paper menu that belonged to the hospital. He showed her the menu and some of the food they had offered. She didn't seem too happy to about their 'wide' variety of choices. "Hmm hopsital food. I can cook better then this." He chuckled and grinned. "Would you like, chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatos. Or chicken nuggets? Well they come with french fries. And pizza that comes with apple sauce." Tracey couldn't help but laugh. "I can't decide, they all sound so delicious!"She seemed to be catching on with his use of sarcasim. She smiled at him again right after. "I'm sure after they're positive that you're okay. Then you'll be free to leave" As Dare said this, Tracey noticed how much he had been fidgeting with it, trying to keep her eyes only focused at the front of the menu. She tried taking it from him to take a closer look at what else there was to eat. "Nah, I don't think I feel too hungry anyway."Tracey told him, even though she did feel somewhat hungry. "How long have I been here? How long have you been waiting?" Tracey loved asking questions immediately one after the other. Sometimes it annoyed people if she asked too many questions, but she didn't this time. If she did, Tracey didn't think that Dare would really mind.
Minutes passed slowly and Tracey was hating it. Every minute felt like an hour. So she started a conversation with Dare, hoping to get to know him a little better. "So, Dare, tell me more about you. I helped you home last night, you helped me here, and we don't know that much about each other. Speak your heart out."

Sure." It took Dare a second to realize she was smiling. Tracey was differant...Differant was good. Perhaps that meant if something did happen then it wouldn't turn out like his other relationships.
--> Pondering this over he nearly missed what she said next. "I can't decide, they all sound so delicious!" Dare couldn't help but laugh. She was picking up on his sarcasim. "Nah I don't think I feel too hungry anyway." She told him. Dare knew she had to be lying, because even he was hungry. As if to confirm he was hungry his stomach rumbled. "I don't know about you, but I'm pretty hungry myself. Though your right. The food here is fucking shit." --> "How long have I been here? How long have you been waiting?" Tracey asked him two questions in a row. Question didn't bother Dare. At all. Someone could question him all day long. Just as sure as they knew they probably wouldn't get a straight answer out of him anyway. " We've both been here long enough for me to be really hungry." His short, not really straight to the point answer, answered both questions. If you really read into his words you could tell that he had stayed with Tracey the whole time and hadn't left to go eat. So of course he didn't know how long they'd been in there. --> "So ,Dare, tell me more about you. I helped you home last night, you helped me here, and we dont' know that much about each other. Speak your heart out." Dare smiled. "Okay, but if I do this it'll be your turn next." Nodding he continued, "Well I have a weird name. My parents are shitty. My mom's dead, and my dad is in jail. I have a younger brother who lives with my aunt. I live on my own in the apartment because I couldn't stand to live with my Aunt any longer. She's strict and I'm too loud or something. I got into collage on an art scholarship or I couldn't afford it. I drink a lot. But I won't be for a while now. My faverite color is lime green. I've been told I'm 'full of myself'. Which is crazy. I just have healthy self esteem. I've always wanted a dog, but I'm allergic. I haven't officially dated in a while. My faverite food is Chinese. Which is where I'd like to take you once we get out of here." Dare wasn't used to talking that much at one time. Or rather wasn't used to 'speaking hsi heart out.' He would've continued but he got cut off when the room's door opened. --> "Tracey, your free to go. But no running, or doing anything to strenuous within 24 hours. Along with no breathing in fumes, smoking and such. " The nurse said smiling brightly at Tracey before slipping out of the room again. --> Dare nodded, more to himself then to anything else. "I'll be outside the door while you change." Then he was gone outside the door. However he had left the menu on the table next to him. The drawing was still facing down though.... His stomach rumbled. Tracey wasn't surprised. She knew they had been there for a while. "I don't know about you, but I'm pretty hungry myself. Though your right. The food here is fucking shit." Even though she didn't show it, Tracey was thinking of all the things she'd like to be eating right now. "We've both been here long enough for me to be really hungry." It wasn't exactly the answer she was looking for, but Tracey kind of got the idea. She was now able to somehow turn his sarcasim into something that actually helped her understand what he was trying to say.
Her thoughts started to wonder off a bit, but then Dare started to answer her question about wanting to know him more. As he was talking, millions of questions popped into her head. Why did he refer to his parents as 'shitty'? How did his mother pass away and why is his father in jail? She didn't expect any of that. The questions were unlimited but she didn't want to interrupt and seem nosy. Then his last sentence kind of slapped her in the face to get her out of the imaginary world of wonder in that head of hers.
"What? You want to - " Tracey was interrupted as the same person that had entered started to talk. The nurse had told her she was ready to leave and that she should be careful for now. "I'll be outside the door while you change." He left the room, giving her some privacy.
Tracey didn't take her time changing back into her clothes. She wanted to get out of there either because she was hungry or because she wanted to get to Dare and ask him about the whole 'take you for Chinese'. When Dare had left he placed the paper menu on the table beside the bed. Tracey was just about to leave the room once she was finished changing, when she saw that she had almost left the charm bracelet, that was given to her by a close friend around seven years ago, on the same table that Dare had left the menu on. She walked over to quickly grab it when she accidently slid the menu off the table and onto the floor. When she bent down to grab it, she saw a drawing of herself, in amazing detail. She picked it up and started to stare at it for a couple of seconds. Tracey couldn't believe how detailed it was. A smile soon enough reached across her face, nearly toughing her ears. She hid it in her bag. Then made her way out to Dare. She didn't think she was going to mention it to him.
Tracey caught up with Dare outside the room. "Come on! I thought you wanted to take me to that Chinese restaurant!"She felt really energetic after finding the picture Dare drew of her. She tried to grab him by the hand and pull him with her, then remembering that she wasn't supposed to run for 24 hours, she looked around to see if any doctors or nurses that took care of her were near. Fortunately for her, they weren't. So she shouted out to Dare in excitement. "TAG! Race you to the taxi stand!" Tracey skipped off, hoping she didn't look stupid to everyone in the hospital and maybe hoping that Dare would possibly be running behind her. Love and relationships were still complicated to her. Did she like Dare, or didn't she. Tracey was desperate to let go of her past experiences, hoping to get rid of the impression of guys as jerks. Hoping that maybe, just maybe, Dare would be different.

` * She's unstoppable, unpredictable ;; I'M SO JADED, CALCULATED, WRONG ¨ * ~ ♚ ~ * ¨ --> Tracey seemed to be thinking while Dare was talking. Probably of some questions to ask Dare. She heard the last sentence about Chinese food and she seemed to perk up a bit. "What? You want to-" She was cut off when the person came in telling Tracey she was free. For second there Dare thought she was thinking it was date. Wasn't it..? Or was it not? Dare thought about it while he was waiting for in the hall. --> It seemed Tracey was taking a little longer then he thought. But Dare would throw on clothes so fast that they didn't look proper on him. So it was fair, he guessed. Just as he was thinking again on her responce to the Chinese restuarant and maybe he should tell her he'd like to date her..she walked out of the room. --> "Come on! I thought you wanted to take me to that Chinese Restuarant!" She head yelled excitedly. Dare grinned, he liked her a lot when she was entergetic. "Onward then!" He declared. For a second it seemed like she was going to grab his hand. Obviously she was excited to be getting out of the hospital and looked around to see if she could run off as Tracey wasn't allowed to. --> "TAG! Race you to the taxi stand!" "I'm going to WIN and leave you in the dust!" Dare exlcaimed between laughing. Tracey skipped off. Still laughing Dare raced after her. Without thinking Dare went up besides her and grabbed her hand. He continued to dash through the hospital. To any on looker they would maybe seem like a carefree couple. Much faster then if they've would've walked they reached the taxi stand. Of course there wasn't a taxi there. Dare looked both ways and realized there weren't taxis around which was a little strange. There would be some perhaps a little farther back. there was traffic at this time and he was kinda bad sighted so it made sense he couldn't see any taxis. --> He breathed in and out heavily, because he was laughing too hard to really breathe. "Well that was fun!" He said chuckling. He still hadn't let go of Tracey's hand and didn't even realize he was holding her hand. Dare was enjoying himself too much. "Onwards then!" Dare yelled after Tracey. She couldn't stop laughing and saw Dare running up behind. I'm going to win and leave you in the dust!" He told her just before she skipped away. Tracey kept laughing as she ran over to the taxi stand. She could see Dare running beside her. She felt his hand grab hers. Tracey looked over to Dare beside her. She smiled at him. Then ran off togther. She felt weird, but she was happy.
At the taxi stand, they were both gasping for breath. "Well that was fun!" He said as they were still both laughing. The both of them had noticed that there were no taxi's in sight. They were still holding hands and Tracey didn't realise.
How far away is the restaurant anyway? Maybe we can just walk there. If not, then I have no idea what we're gonna do." She took her phone out of her pocket, with the hand that wasn't holding Dare's. It was just about six o'clock. She didn't understand why there weren't any taxi's at this time, especially near the hospital.
The sun was just about about to set and the sky was a beautiful colour of orange. She looked up and was amazed by the colour, even though it wasn't exactly green, her favourite colour. Then suddenly, that's when she had remembered that she was still holding his hand, but still couldn't let go.
Once she had let go of his hand, Tracey made her way to the bench behind her, still waiting to see if they would wait for a taxi, or walk. "Actually Dare,"She began to say, "before we go to the restaurant, I think I should get cleaned up. Pick me up later, or if you want I can just meet you there." Then Tracey started to walk away, fortunately, her house wasn't too far away. But then she returned to him and said, "It's a date." Tracey smiled, then walked away. She couldn't believe what she did.

` * She's unstoppable, unpredictable ;; I'M SO JADED, CALCULATED, WRONG ¨ * ~ ♚ ~ * ¨ --> "How far away is the reatuarant anyway? Maybe we can walk there. If not, then I have no idea what we're gonna do." Dare thought and thought that the Chinese Restuarant wasn't that far from where they were now. So it wasn't that bad of a walk. He peeked over at her cell phone to see what time it was when she pulled it out. 6:00 pm. Crazy how time flew.
--> "Yeah it's not that far of a walk." Dare nodded. He was still holding her hand and had just realized it. Dare was a crazy person and very unlike what he put out there for people to see. Right now he was mentally focusing as hard as possible to not blush. And it was working...kind of. Finally he realized what Tracey was focused on. The sun set. It was gorgeous. No matter how many times he drew it, it never came out looking as gorgeous as the real thing.
--> "Kinda like Tracey, huh. No matter how many time I could draw her, nothign would be a beautiful as the real thing..." He said it very sfotly under his breath. Like a thought that had escaped out of his head. Maybe she had heard it maybe she hadn't. Either way he wasn't aware he had said it out loud.
--> Finally they released hands, "Actually Dare, before we go to the reastuarant, I think I should get cleaned up. Pick me up later, or if you want I can just meet you there." She started to walk away. Obviously her house was in walking distance. But as he watched her go, almost about to turn himself, she had turned around. "It's a date." He blinked. He had never felt as great. Although there was the overwhelming, 'Imma fuck it up..' Though in his head. It was pleasent. --> "It's a date then." He yelled cheerfully back at her. He couldn't believe this was happening. He would walk to the Chinese Restuarant and maybe sit outside waiting. It was too far a walk to his aparment and back. Because by the time he would even get to his aparment it would be time to meet up with Tracey. --> So in the short twenty minute walk he had himself seated on a bench outside the restuarant. Pondering things. Dare wasn't exactly the deepest thinker, so he looked hard at thinking at the moment. Every couple of seconds he would think by chewing on his guitar pick. He had to stop being so freaked out about relationships. Maybe this would be a way to face his fear? Sighing he thought that maybe he shouldnt think about it anymore because it was starting to give him a head ache. So instead he pondered what he would order... TAGS ;; Tracey! WORDS ;; Around 488 CLOTHES ;; Clothes shown in above picture NOTES ;; Should we start a new thread in The Streets? MUSIC ;; Arizona by Hey Monday CREDIT ;; KContagiousx3@CAUTION&&Blank Pages

& I WAKE UP EVERY EVENING WITH A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE ( and it never seems out of place ) "It's a date then."
Tracey could hear him yell as she walked away. She was surprised she even said that. But she somehow felt good about it. A smile spread across her face.
Home sweet home at last she thought. Then she remembered that there was no time to waste. Take a shower, get dressed. She was wearing a long sky blue coloured skirt and a yellow tank top with a grey pullover on. Tracey grabbed her bag and placed Dare's drawing of her inside, planning to give it back to him then. She was nervous. Tracey couldn't think of anything they could talk about later on. She made her way to the restaurant, hoping she'd find it and not get lost.
Tracey could see Dare sitting on a bench right outside the restaurant. She paused as a result of her heart beating uncontrollably, she was without a doubt nervous. When she finally puleed her courage together, all she could say at that moment was, "Hi!" With a sweet smile following not oo far behind. "Are you ready to go in? I'm feeling hungry now, since we left the hospital." She could see the doorman, waiting for them to enter the building, all dressed up. Tracey then took a peek inside through the windows, enjoying the view, hoping it would look like it did on the inside.
