BAND: Lets Make a Tragedy
POSITION: Lead guitarist and backing vocals
BAND HISTORY: Pete had been playing guitar since he was just a kid and he always wanted to do something with his music, but he never knew what, or had the initiative to go through with it. When his best friends asked him if he wanted to join a band, Pete immediately agreed. Ever since he was eighteen, Pete has been playing with Lets Make a Tradegy.

you know I'm so hot
APPEARANCE: Well, Pete doesn't consider himself Brad Pitt, but he knows he has some boyish good looks. His hair is a dark, chestnut brown that could even pass for black. It's a bit longer than how most boys wear it and even though he never straightens it and rarely brushes it, it manages to stay straight and in position. His eyes are a deep brown and he's known to sometimes sport a five o'clock shadow, although his clean shaven look isn't uncommon either. Pete isn't very tall for a man, standing just short of six feet at 5'11" and while he isn't a skinny stick figure, he isn't very muscular either, falling somewhere in the middle.
STYLE: Pete probably dresses a lot better than most guys his age. He isn't big into fashion, but with his background, he was never allowed to dress like a slob. Jeans are pretty much a necessity for Pete, as well as t-shirts and jackets. He also loves scarves and other accessories like sunglasses and wrist bands.
MARKINGS: Pete doesn't have any tattoos, but he has a scar on his left arm from when a dog bit him when he was seven.
PIERCINGS: No piercings.[/color]
all the small things
LIKES: Music, guitar, violin, literature, scarves, sunglasses, watching soccer, playing with lego, shark week, theme parks, dancing, the colors red and blue, wolves, cute babies, anything sweet and sugary, video games, murder mysteries, staying up all night, taking walks at night, swimming, and writing.
DISLIKES: being forced to do anything, working, vicious dogs, jocks, stuck up girls, football, guys who wear a ton of makeup, people who try way too hard, overly competitive people, judgmental people, centipedes, spiders, going to be early, and getting super dirty.
STRENGTHS: Well, Pete is good at listening to what other people have to stay and actually understanding them. He's brilliant with both the guitar and violin, and he's also good at writing music. He's very laid back and accepting, and he's capable of making friends easily. Last but not least, he's extremely intelligent.
WEAKNESSES: He can be sort of impulsive and a bit too idealistic at times. He also does not to well with blood or needles and will probably faint when he sees either or. He isn't very good at sports, either, although he's good at swimming. Getting dirty is something he hates, and he will often do whatever he has to do to avoid getting covered in filth.
FEARS: Becoming like his father, in the sense of working a lousy job just to get by.
HABITS: He drums his fingers on tabletops and when he gets nervous, he recites his favorite poems or songs.
GOALS: For his band to make it big and to find the right girl.
SECRET: He's actually a genius. He's never made any real attempt to hide this, but he doesn't want his friends to think he's some nerdy braniac, so he downplays his intelligence a lot.

quite the charmer
PERSONALITY: Pete, in general, is a really nice guy. He's very understanding and genuinely cares about people, even strangers. To his friends, he's a lot of fun to be around and always willing to try new things and to everyone else, he's easy to befriend, so it shouldn't take long. He respects everyone and never looks down upon them and, unlike a lot of people, he doesn't talk shit about people behind their backs. He's very honest and trustworthy. Most of the time, he's very laid back and takes things as they come.
He can be a bit of a nerd at times, with an odd sense of humor and around too many people, he can be sort of awkward. He's very easy to talk to and very loyal, so he'll go to bat for his friends. However, he will never compromise his beliefs; those are set in stone and he will never go against them. He tends to follow his heart and do what he thinks is right, not listening to what other people tell him to do. Pete is also very artistic; he loves anything to do with music, as well as literature. He's a hard worker, even though he doesn't like working, and he puts in every bit of effort into the task at hand. Pete's never broken a promise and he's the kind of guy you'd call if you need a shoulder to cry on, or if you need help shredding evidence, since he'll be there no matter what.

you know I can't resist
SEXUALITY: Sorry boys, he's straight
TURN ONS: Well, girls who also have an affinity for music, and a good sense of humor is a definite must. Girls who are independent also draw him in, as well as girls with long hair. While he knows most people aren't rocket scientists, a girl who is fairly intelligent is always nice.
TURN OFFS: Girls who are too clingy are a definite no-no for Pete, as well as promiscuous girls. If they're too self-involved or high maintenance, he won't even consider it. He also isn't a fan of drug abuse and the baggage that come with it.
RELATIONSHIP HISTORY: Pete's never had a girlfriend before. He isn't afraid of commitment or anything like that, he just hasn't found the right person. When he was twelve, he did meet a girl he thought he liked at music camp. He even had his first kiss with her, but after camp, he never saw or spoke to her again. He's waiting for the right person.
legend in the making
MOTHER: Ekaterina, despite being ten years younger than Sergei, instantly fell in love with him and it wasn't long until they were married. When they moved to America with their young son, Sergei got a job working in a factory while Katya spent her time at home, raising Ilya. He is also close with his mother, who has always been supportive of him.
FATHER: Sergei Valenkov was a poor Russian man who, like many foreigners before him, came to America to seek a better life for his wife and young son, even though it was very difficult. The Soviet Union had just dissolved and he took the opportunity to head to America. Upon arriving, life was tough, but Sergei got a job working in a factory. He made good money and through the years, saved up enough money to give his family the life they always wanted. Pete has a close relationship with his father, despite not seeing eye-to-eye on everything.
SIBLINGS: None
HISTORY: Ilya Pytor Valenkov was born on a frigid Russian night in January. Neither of his parents had any money and they tried their hardest to provide for their son, but life was hard and they were forced to live in tough conditions. Of course, Pete has no memory of this since he was so young and when he was two, the family moved to America. Sergei began working long hours in a factory, but the pay was good and it was more than enough to provide for him and his mother.
Pete's childhood was nothing special. While his parents loved him very much, they never spoiled him and always made him work for anything. He had to help his mother out around the house with the cooking and cleaning if he expected anything. His parents wanted their son to excel, so they sent him to private school and even made him take up the violin, which Pete had a natural talent for. Pete did excel, but not because he was an overachiever by nature; his parents worked so hard and he couldn't let them down, so he returned the favor. When he was ten, Pete became interested in playing guitar and his parents agreed that they would let him play, as long as he continued with the violin and kept his grades up, which wasn't a problem.
High school was when things got a bit different. Instead of Ilya, he started going by Pete, since it seemed like a normal, American name and he just wanted to be normal. Instead of going to a private school, he begged his parents to go to a public school, much to their dismay, but they eventually agreed. In high school, Pete met all of his friends and focused on guitar more than anything. He graduated with top marks and dozens of scholarships, but instead of seizing the opportunity, he decided to follow his music; in his senior year, he joined a band with his friends known as Lets Make a Tragedy. He followed his heart and his father was deeply upset with him, but they managed to work it out. Still, Pete can't deny that his parents would have liked him to be a lawyer or a doctor.
Pete's been living on his own for two years now, but he still sees his parents all the time. He's had a couple of jobs waiting tables and whatnot, but he really couldn't stand any of those jobs. He currently works at the bookstore at the University of Fairview, in order to pay the rent. He enjoys the freedom of playing his music and living on his own, but he still has yet to find what he really wants.
